About the Grille
Before opening the Thornton River Grille, our dream was to serve fabulous food in a beautiful and intimate setting. When our restaurant opened in November 2003, after a loving restoration process, our dream came true.
We're located in a historic building in the heart of tiny Sperryville, Virginia. We share the building with a charming country store that has been in operation for 150 years. (Ask to see some of the old accounting and ledger books that date back to the 1800's).
Known for fabulous steaks and burgers, all of our meats are cut fresh at our in-house butcher shop. The hamburger is ground daily from 100% choice chuck to ensure freshness, quality, and the best tasting burger around. And because of the open kitchen you can watch it being cooked right in front of you.
Our region is known for its gorgeous scenery, thriving wineries, and spectacularly breath-taking fall foliage.
